Prayer Team Member Information:

  • Prayer Teams consist of seven individuals or couples (sometimes more) who have committed to pray for one year, specifically one day each week as well as at other times, as the Holy Spirit leads.
  • Recommitments can be renewed yearly or you can take a break from prayer team.
  • Prayer Teams are considered a Team because of the mutual prayer support provided.
  • You do not need to meet with your prayer team but some occasionally do, to pray for team members.
  • Confidentiality is stressed. What is prayed for by a Prayer Team stays with the Prayer Team.
  • An assigned “contact person” usually mails out prayers to the specific Prayer Team Members once a month.

Pray for the Persecuted Church - May 31, 2016 -

Persecution of Christians varies widely across China. Chinese Christians tell us that what is true in one part of China may not be true in another. But no matter how free some churches may seem, the Chinese government is always keeping a watchful eye on Christians.

However, there is one restriction that is uniformly enforced across all of China and that is that children and youth under the age of 18 cannot be taught about Christ - nor are children allowed to attend Sunday School or church - and most children's Christian literature is illegal.

So the question for parents and educators is, is teaching the children about the Bible and Christianity worth the possibility of going to prison if discovered? This has happened.

Please pray for the protection of Christian parents and educators who try to secretly raise their children in the Christian faith. Pray that they safely receive Bibles and teaching materials that are smuggled in and carefully distributed. May no generation of children or young people in China not hear the Gospel or know of God's love for them.

"Hear the cries of your brothers and sisters in captive nations! They do not ask for escape, safety or an easy life. They ask only for the tools to counteract the poisoning of their youth - the next generation." --Richard Wurmbrand in Tortured for Christ

"But Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them...'" Matthew 19:14

Thank you for your prayers - they do make a difference!
